I can't really explain why - my luck has been utterly horrible so far.
In the first week of playing the game, I used up every crystal I earned. In that shopping spree, I earned almost all of the SSR arks, as well as Goroth, Blood Rose, Gorm, Leena, Doura, and eventually Lukiel. Then a couple weeks later I got Robin. Other than the guaranteed Secret of Mana pull (I got Primm), I've spent nearly every crystal earned in game and does half a dozen pulls (at least) and haven't received a single SSR ark or a unit. I still don't have any of the meta units (Shin, Dyne, Sevia, Lilah) and most of my pulls end up being 1 or 2 gold arks with the rest blue arks.
Lukiel is really fun to use. She has amazing stats for both STR and INT. With the right build, I actually got her STR up to 2k and her INT up to 1.5k, and she is only level 72 currently. However, she is my only unit I was able to unlock to 80 (my luck with Transcendence Gate has been abysmal, I have 14 Dragoneyes, 9 Galaxias Crystals, 9 Specter Tears, 7 Sacred Gems, but the items I need to enhance my current team is totally inadequate (Gorm and Leena). Thankfully I was able to grab my fifth God-Sealing Stone, so once I have upgraded all of my soul spots I will unlock Lukiel to 100. In no rush though.
And that's the funny part.
I don't feel it necessary to move quickly, but I'm still really, really enjoying the game. Just the habit of logging in to collect souls and spinning the amazing free gacha (I got a Hand of Time during one spin), plus the feeling of slowly building unit souls through the Conquer mechanism and training units in certain abilities is just utterly transfixing.
I feel like I should be angry at the game for all the bad luck. My luck in FFBE has been abysmal as well, and my feelings about that are well known (not good). But with Last Cloudia, it feels so chill, even with the worst luck I've ever had in one of these gacha games.
I suppose it would be different - no, it would be different, had I paid any money into the game yet. Because the rate for pulling units is dramatically terrible in Last Cloudia. But Aidis hasn't given a good reason to spend money yet. Even the Black Friday banner seemed off, with what you got versus what you paid. That's partially why I haven't posted any news about the bundles on the site. They just don't seem newsworthy and valuable. I'm hoping this isn't affected Aidis's bottom line, but I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Still, the game is fun. I am hoping they give good incentive to spend soon, so I can feel a bit more invested. But currently, even with bad luck, the game is still very comfortable and honestly, a great way to relax after a long day.
