Ok Aidis, I have to come out and admit this. I'm Not A Whale, nor Will I Ever Be.
But the fact that your SoM collab Step-Up, if I did in fact want to finish all 5 rounds, would cost me more than $300 (as you cannot use crystals earned by playing the game)...
Well.
Since you are expecting some people to make this purchase, I am assuming you are going to be using this initial burst of investment to continue and develop your game. I'm happy if in fact you have whales who are investing in you, because as a small game company without a huge company like Square Enix to back you, you need all the help you can get. That being said, this kind of model isn't a good model for normal players and isn't good for the future.
Having a paid versus non-paid crystal system also isn't a good system, because you are creating two tiers of players, instead of embracing the wide spectrum of players who already exist in the game. I am part of the spectrum of players who might actually pay money to buy crystals, but only with special deals and currently your deals are very standard, don't change, and honestly are not that great (two purchases, one for $80 and the other for $32, although the $32 cannot even complete a single round of the Step-Up, forcing players who want to finish one round to spend either $64 or just go all out and get the $80 purchase).
You have made a great game that has fantastic potential, but your monetization policy doesn't seem well balanced. Perhaps this is intention, or perhaps this is an oversight. I'm not a money guy, so if in fact you have smart money guys on your team who figured out this is the best way forward into the Global Market, good for you. But ostracizing the majority of your playerbase isn't a good way to generate credibility, especially for your first collab and your second major event in the Global game.
